Ukraine needs precise strategy for further economic development. This was said by Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in an interview to the Den newspaper published on Friday, April 17.

Speaking about terms for holding of deep reforms, Groysman noted he could remember “such a European country that would experience rapid and quality reforms.”

“We have a recipe for rapid “recovery” — making order in the judicial system. That is a tough fight against corrupt officials and bribe-takers,” he said.

At that the Head of the Verkhovna Rada said he is particularly concerned over the economic package of reforms. “As there are both objective and subjective elements in our "fall." It is clear that when the east is in war, it is hard to attract any investor. However, it is still possible. What should we do for that? We have to introduce moratorium on amending the legislation in this field. There should be laws and businessmen should have guarantees for non-changing of rules during at least 5-10 years,” he said.

“We have to have very precise strategy as to further economic development… The deregulation is a good thing as well as good is the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU; however, the creation of conditions for the development of domestic market and domestic producers is what we need extremely. Earlier, everything here had depended on importation of raw materials in many sectors, but now we have to do our best to preserve added value in Ukraine,” Groysman noted and added that “stable transparent and effective legislation is a very important issue for the investor.”
